QCL Digital Signage (DS) product is a complete solution for content management and distribution across the Internet. The QCL DS system makes the whole process of design and distribution, simple for multiple locations.
Managers can create, edit and update content remotely. A manager can schedule content to appear instantly or at a specific time in a particular location. Information and content can be targeted at specific stores/showrooms, individual screens, interactive kiosks or geographic regions. The QCL DS solution uses a ‘BackOffice’ system that provides centralised management of the content and its distribution. A manager is a person who is responsible for controlling these functions. The three core elements of the QCL Digital Signage (DS) system 1. ‘Player’ Program This component sits on the display terminal. The QCL ‘Player’ is the application player. The player can run standalone applications and Internet/intranet applications as part of the QCL DS ‘BackOffice’ system. 2. ‘BackOffice’ The ‘BackOffice’ system is the project, user and content management system. This component resides on a server connected to the Internet or corporate intranet. ‘BackOffice’ requires SQL server in order to function. The ‘Player’ program that resides on the display terminal and communicates with ‘BackOffice’ to access relevant parts of the system functionality. 3. ‘Remote’ Playlist Editor QCL Webshop ‘Remote’ is a remote management software tool. Managers login to ‘BackOffice’ through a secure procedure. This allows access to the ‘BackOffice’ system. Once logged in a manager can create playlists, target them at specific locations and schedule downloads to on site servers. A manager who edits the playlist connects to a central server holding all the content using an Internet communication system called remoting. Remoting allows communication from anywhere across the Internet without the need for expensive networks. ‘BackOffice’ accounts are assigned to managers by the ‘BackOffice’ administrator and consist of a username and password. Managers can then login to ‘BackOffice’ from their PC using QCL DS ‘Remote’. Once logged in, use of the ‘BackOffice’ features depends on the security level awarded to their account. |
